Job Overview
The Staff Software Development Engineer is a senior individual contributor responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of complex software and data solutions. This role combines strong software engineering expertise with deep knowledge of Big Data platforms, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices. The position provides technical leadership across projects, drives engineering best practices, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support complex software applications, data pipelines, and cloud-based solutions. Work across the full technology stack, including backend services, APIs, databases, data platforms, and cloud infrastructure. Lead technical design and implementation efforts for large-scale, business-critical initiatives. Develop and optimize ETL processes and large-scale data processing solutions using modern Big Data technologies. Implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and DevOps best practices. Drive software quality through code reviews, testing standards, and engineering best practices. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend improvements to products, services, and development processes. Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across teams. Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Substantial experience in software development, systems analysis, data engineering, or cloud engineering. Strong experience designing and developing enterprise-scale applications and data platforms. Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives and influencing engineering direction.
Required Technical Skills
Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, and SQL. Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and modern data lake architectures. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application development. Experience with Git, GitLab CI, Azure Pipelines, Maven, and CI/CD best practices. Strong knowledge of Apache Airflow for orchestration and scheduling. Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices. Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments. Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly MS SQL Server and MySQL. Experience working in Agile delivery environments using Scrum and Kanban. Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for requirements and project management.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Kafka, Databricks Workflows, Bash scripting, and ELK Stack technologies (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Filebeat). Experience with AWS, GCP, or multi-cloud environments. Knowledge of Spark monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor. Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, Hive, HDFS, or Impala. Azure Data Engineer, Azure Developer, Azure DevOps, or related cloud certifications. Familiarity with AI Agent IDE tools (e.g. Cursor) for AI-assisted development workflows

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is 217 300,00 zł - 461 700,00 zł. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
