Freight Audit & Pay Analyst

Temporary Position Notice: This is a temporary assignment with an expected duration of 12 months. Candidates must be comfortable accepting a fixed-term opportunity for the duration of the assignment.

Location: Monterrey (Hybrid)

Work Schedule: Hybrid, 2-3 days per week in the office

We are looking for a Freight Audit & Pay Analyst to support transportation financial operations across North America manufacturing plants and logistics centers. In this role, you will be responsible for auditing freight invoices, resolving payment disputes, validating transportation charges against contractual agreements, and partnering with carriers, Procurement, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure billing accuracy and operational efficiency.

This position is ideal for a highly analytical professional who enjoys working with large volumes of information, managing multiple priorities, and building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

What will you do?

Audit freight invoices and transportation charges to ensure accuracy and compliance with carrier agreements.

Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, billing disputes, and payment issues with transportation providers.

Collaborate closely with Procurement teams to validate transportation rates and contractual terms.

Review mileage calculations, freight costs, accessorial charges, and carrier reports to identify inconsistencies.

Partner with carriers, Finance, Accounts Payable, and Logistics teams to facilitate timely invoice processing and payment.

Manage high volumes of communication with carriers and internal stakeholders while maintaining strong service levels.

Monitor aging invoices and support efforts to release and process a significant volume of transportation invoices.

Analyze transportation and billing data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.

Develop reporting and dashboards to support transportation cost visibility and operational decision-making.

Participate in business reviews with carriers to discuss disputes, performance issues, and corrective actions.

Support transportation compliance and continuous improvement initiatives across North America operations.

What are the key skills we are looking for?

Invoice Audit & Financial Analysis

Intermediate to advanced level. Ability to review transportation invoices, validate billing data, and identify cost discrepancies.

Transportation & Logistics Knowledge

Intermediate level. Understanding of freight management, carrier operations, transportation contracts, and logistics processes.

Data Analytics

Intermediate to advanced level. Ability to analyze large datasets and transform data into actionable insights.

Stakeholder Management

Advanced level. Ability to collaborate effectively with carriers, Procurement, Finance, Logistics, and Accounts Payable teams.

Problem Solving

Advanced level. Ability to investigate complex billing disputes, determine root causes, and drive resolutions.

Organization & Prioritization

Advanced level. Ability to manage multiple workstreams, high email volumes, and time-sensitive requests.

Customer Orientation

Advanced level. Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners while delivering a high standard of service.

What qualifications will make you successful?

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in Freight Audit & Pay, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance Operations, Accounts Payable, or similar functions.

Advanced English proficiency with the ability to communicate professionally with stakeholders across North America.

Experience working with transportation carriers and freight invoice management processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience handling large volumes of transactions, invoices, and stakeholder interactions.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience using Tableau, Power BI, databases, or other analytics and reporting tools.

Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting multi-site operations across North America.

Knowledge of transportation contracts, freight rates, and accessorial charges.

Experience working with ERP, TMS, or freight payment systems.

Background in Logistics Finance, Transportation Procurement, or Freight Operations.
