A HKSAR Government Department

Selected candidate will be assigned to work in government department and responsible for design and build prototypes for Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) smart government solutions on a centralized government AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Focused on speed and experimentation

Leverage the Government's central AI infrastructure to spin up working functional proof-of-concept prototypes for departments to solve real business problems

Partner closely with departments to understand their daily operational workflows, bottlenecks and pain points, and translate business requirements into high impact and scalable GenAI, workflow automation or other AI use cases

Guide B/Ds through the transition from traditional workflows to AI-enabled concepts, managing local resistance and aligning stakeholders with executive showcase narratives

Build functional GenAI workflows, agentic loops, knowledge assistants, chatbots and internal

Paired with lightweight front-end interfaces and chat windows, to rapidly prototype solutions and address core business pain points.

Design, test and refine system prompts, few-shot examples and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions to maximize output accuracy and minimize hallucinations

Seamlessly integrate departments' data pipelines with the Government's central AI infrastructure and application programmed interfaces (APIs).

Prepare user guides, prompt templates, reusable workflows and relevant technical documentations and conduct briefings/trainings to business and technical users from departments for change management and knowledge transfer

Quickly pivot and modify prototypes based on live feedback from departments and/or other stakeholders

Requirements:

Higher Diploma holder or above in IT/ Computer Science or related discipline

At least 3 years of relevant experience in IT and 1 year in similar capacity

Solid work experience in system implementation, application development, workflow automation, digital transformation, technical consulting or system administration

Sound knowledge of GenAI, large language models (LLMs), APIs and prompt engineering

Solid work experience in configuring, implementing or supporting information technology systems or digital tools

Candidates with experience in any of the following aspects would be advantage:

Open WebUI, Dify, n8n, RAGFlow or Work Buddy

DeepSeek, Qwen or other LLMs

RAG, vector databases or knowledge management

APIs, databases, Linux, Docker or cloud platforms

Python, JavaScript, SQL or other programming languages

AI agents, browser automation or desktop automation

Information security, data governance or responsible AI

Digital transformation projects in the Government or large organization
