About the role

As a Project Officer, you will support the delivery of projects that upgrade, replace, and maintain water and wastewater assets across the region.

Working on both capital and non-capital projects, you will help ensure assets meet operational needs and stakeholder requirements, while delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality and compliance standards. You will also support procurement activities, manage a portfolio of equipment purchase projects, and contribute to project reporting and analysis.

This is a 13-month fixed-term opportunity with flexibility to be based at our regional depots, including Geraldton, Albany, Karratha, and Northam.

What you can expect with this role

Provide project administration support for the delivery of capital and non-capital projects, including business case preparation, project and program reporting, commissioning, handover activities, and coordination of stakeholder site visits and project meetings.

Monitor and maintain project information and performance data, including SAP Project Systems (SAP PS) administration, project progress reviews, data integrity checks, asset creation processes, and internal performance reporting.

Support contract and procurement activities by assisting with tender and RFQ documentation, e-procurement processes, contract establishment, tender evaluations, and recommendations for contract awards.

Coordinate contractor and project delivery activities, including managing contractor interfaces, monitoring progress, supporting claims and variation assessments, and facilitating inspections and developer works clearances.

Contribute to quality, compliance, and safety outcomes by supporting works inspections, contractor safety reviews, occupational health and safety audits, hazard reporting, corrective action management, and investigation reporting.

Ensure adherence to legislative, regulatory, and corporate requirements by maintaining compliance with relevant policies, ethical standards, governance requirements, and workplace health and safety procedures.

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

Strong administration experience, with the ability to coordinate activities, manage documentation, and support project delivery effectively.

Strong communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prepare accurate reports, maintain records, and engage professionally with stakeholders.

Experience supporting teams and stakeholders across multiple or remote locations, ensuring effective coordination and communication.

SAP experience is desirable, particularly in project, procurement, asset, or financial administration environments.

Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Proactive and collaborative approach, with a focus on delivering high-quality support and building positive working relationships.
