Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and provide support on financial and accounting matters.
Manage the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, including preparation of accurate financial statements and management reports at both company and group levels.
Review and analyse expenses, financial reports, and account movements, highlighting any irregularities or discrepancies to the CFO for further action.
Assist the CFO in inventory valuation, stock-related analysis, and other financial matters as required.
Liaise and coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, government authorities, and other statutory bodies on accounting and financial matters.
Monitor and coordinate quarterly and year-end physical stock counts, ensuring proper procedures are followed and discrepancies are identified and addressed.
Assist the CFO in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, budget reports, and variance analysis.
Manage, guide, and monitor the performance of Account Executives, ensuring accounting tasks and month-end closing activities are completed accurately and within the required timeline.
Ensure the preparation of financial statements within seven (7) working days from the completion of the month-end closing process by the Account Executive.
Liaise with the Sales team, bankers, auditors, tax agents, company secretary, and relevant statutory authorities on matters relating to finance, accounting, and company compliance.
Review and approve credit facility applications for new customers in accordance with the company's credit policies and approval limits.
Review and approve bank payment transactions within the authorised approval limit and ensure proper supporting documentation is maintained.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, financial controls, reporting accuracy, and overall efficiency.
Perform any other accounting, financial, or administrative duties as assigned by the CFO or immediate superior.
Job Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant discipline is preferred.
Proven experience in Account Manager, Assistant Account Manager, Senior Accountant, or a similar accounting/finance position.
Preferably more than 3 years of relevant working experience, with strong exposure to financial reporting and month-end closing.
Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or MICPA will be an added advantage.
Hands-on experience with accounting software and financial management systems.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to prepare, analyse, and utilise financial spreadsheets and reports.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify financial irregularities and provide appropriate recommendations.
Good knowledge of financial reporting, inventory valuation, budgeting, audit coordination, and statutory requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills with the ability to supervise and develop Account Executives.
High level of integrity, accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail when handling financial information and transactions.
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
