About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, measurement, and contract administration across our construction projects. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate quantity take-offs, cost control, and timely valuation of works throughout the project lifecycle - from tender stage through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
Estimation & Tendering
Prepare accurate quantity take-offs (BOQ) from drawings and specifications at tender stage
Support cost estimation and pricing for new project bids
Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations for competitiveness and completeness
Cost Control & Measurement
Measure completed works on-site and prepare interim payment applications/valuations
Track project costs against budget and report variances to management
Prepare and manage cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete estimates
Monitor and control variations, ensuring proper valuation and approval before execution
Contract Administration
Review and administer subcontractor and supplier contracts, including terms, payment schedules, and retention
Prepare and submit interim payment certificates and final accounts
Support the preparation of claims, variations, and Extension of Time (EOT) documentation from a cost perspective
Ensure compliance with contract conditions (FIDIC or equivalent) throughout project execution
Procurement Support
Assist in subcontractor and material procurement, including RFQ preparation and comparison
Negotiate rates and terms with subcontractors and suppliers
Maintain accurate records of all cost-related correspondence and approvals
Reporting
Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and reconciliation statements for management
Maintain accurate measurement and valuation records for audit purposes
Coordinate with the Planning team to align cost reporting with project schedule status
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
4–8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, steel structure, or industrial projects
Strong knowledge of measurement standards (SMM7, POMI, or equivalent) and BOQ preparation
Familiarity with FIDIC or similar contract forms
Proficient in MS Excel; experience with QS software (CostX, Candy, Buildsoft) is a plus
Prior experience on projects in Saudi Arabia preferred
Preferred Qualifications
RICS or relevant professional certification
Experience handling final accounts and dispute/claims documentation
Knowledge of Primavera P6 for cost-schedule integration
