Position Summary
Business Enterprise Solutions (BES) team is a part of the Corporate Technology & Innovation department focusing on key enterprise business solutions to support our company business objectives.
The Manager, Business Analysis is responsible for the leadership, administration, support, governance, and continuous improvement of Southland's Workday platform.
This role oversees the day-to-day operations of our HCM Workday and other HR related solution, ensuring the platforms remains stable, secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs. The manager will partner closely with the HR & Payroll Innovation team to ensure new capabilities and solutions can be effectively transitioned, supported, and sustained in ongoing operations.
The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership capabilities with deep HCM expertise across reporting, security, integrations, platform administration, release management, and governance. This leader is responsible for operational excellence, platform performance, resource planning, vendor management, and continuous improvement while ensuring Workday delivers measurable business value to stakeholders. This position reports to the Director of Business Technology Operations
Position Details
Platform Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Workday professionals, including:
Workday Reporting Business Analyst
Workday Security Lead
Workday Integration Business Analyst
Establish team goals, priorities, service levels, and performance expectations.
Manage workload allocation, resource planning, team development, and succession planning.
Foster a customer-focused culture centered on collaboration, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance management, career development, and coaching activities.
Workday Platform Ownership
Own the overall health, performance, and operational success of the Workday platform.
Develop and maintain the Workday operational roadmap in partnership with business stakeholders.
Establish governance processes for platform changes, enhancements, security administration, reporting standards, and integrations.
Oversee Workday releases, feature adoption, testing, deployment, and change management activities.
Ensure platform stability, data integrity, security, compliance, and operational reliability.
Partner with the HR & Payroll Innovation team to evaluate emerging Workday capabilities and industry trends and recommend future enhancements.
Business Relationship Management
Serve as the primary relationship manager between Technology & Innovation and HRIS team and HR stakeholders.
Build strong partnerships with business leaders to understand organizational needs, challenges, and priorities.
Facilitate the prioritization of enhancement requests, projects, and operational initiatives.
Translate business objectives into technology strategies and actionable roadmaps.
Provide consultation and subject matter expertise regarding Workday capabilities and best practices.
Reporting, Analytics & Data Governance
Oversee Workday reporting strategy, reporting architecture, and data governance practices.
Ensure reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions provide consistent, accurate, and meaningful business insights.
Establish governance for data definitions, report standards, security, and reporting lifecycle management.
Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting priorities.
Support enterprise analytics initiatives leveraging Workday reporting capabilities.
Security & Compliance
Oversee Workday security governance, role-based access controls, authentication processes, and security administration.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, privacy standards, and regulatory obligations.
Partner with Information Security and Compliance teams to establish security best practices.
Lead periodic security reviews, audits, and remediation activities.
Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and security governance standards.
Integrations & Platform Architecture
Oversee Workday integrations, middleware connections, APIs, inbound and outbound interfaces, and vendor integrations.
Partner with the Integration and Automation team to develop new integration as needed.
Ensure integration performance, reliability, monitoring, and support processes meet business expectations.
Partner with technical teams and vendors on integration design, improvements, and issue resolution.
Establish standards for integration architecture, data flows, documentation, and lifecycle management.
Support enterprise initiatives involving Workday, and connected business systems: LinkedIn, Indeed.
Vendor & Service Management
Manage relationships with Workday, implementation partners, consultants, and third-party vendors.
Oversee vendor performance, contracts, service agreements, and escalation management.
Participate in technology evaluations, roadmap planning, and vendor governance activities.
Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost optimization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience supporting Workday or enterprise HCM platforms.
Minimum 3+ years of people leadership experience managing analysts, functional leads, or enterprise application teams.
Strong expertise in Workday platform administration, reporting, security, integrations, and operational support.
Experience leading Workday teams responsible for reporting, security, integrations, releases, and platform operations.
Strong understanding of Workday architecture, business processes, governance, and system lifecycle management.
Experience supporting Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Compensation, Recruiting, Learning, or related modules.
Strong knowledge of Workday reporting, dashboards, analytics, data governance, and reporting architecture.
Strong knowledge of Workday security models, role-based access controls, domain security, audit controls, and compliance requirements
Experience supporting Workday integrations, APIs, middleware solutions, data flows, and third-party vendor integrations.
Proven ability to build partnerships across HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and executive leadership teams.
Strong program, project, vendor, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to create technology roadmaps, establish governance, and lead organizational change initiatives.
Workday certifications in Reporting, Security, Integrations, HCM, Payroll, or related disciplines preferred.
Experience supporting large, complex, multi-company or multi-state organizations preferred.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (California/Washington) this ranges from $125,000.00 - $188,000.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
