About the role

Avnet, Inc. a Fortune 500 company and one of the global leaders in the field of distribution of electronic components is looking for a Backend Developer with strong Python experience to design and build scalable, high-performance services. You will work on innovative projects ranging from data platforms to AI/LLM integrations, directly contributing to the company’s digital transformation.

What You Will Be Doing:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI

Build scalable and high-performance APIs for internal applications

Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB

Design and optimize big data processing pipelines

Perform and optimize large-scale data transformations using Apache Spark on private cloud clusters

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data, frontend, business)

Manage code versioning using GitHub

Contribute to modern software architecture design

Optimize system performance and reliability.

The Ideal Person:

Must have:

Strong proficiency in Python

Hands-on experience with FastAPI

Experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB

Strong experience working with big data systems and large-scale datasets

Proven ability to optimize performance of data transformations, particularly using Apache Spark

Experience working with distributed computing environments (e.g. private cloud clusters)

Familiarity with version control systems (GitHub or similar)

Experience building RESTful APIs

Solid understanding of backend architectures and microservices

High proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have:

Experience with Neo4j

Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure

Experience with Elasticsearch

Background in AI / Machine Learning (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)

Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs)

Familiarity with data pipelines and analytics systems.
