About the role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our team immediately. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process fabrication, structural steelwork, piping spools, and finished assemblies to ensure full compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and international industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Testing: Conduct visual, dimensional, and structural inspections of fabricated metal components, piping spools, tanks, and structural assemblies at various production stages.

Material Verification: Inspect incoming raw materials (plates, pipes, beams, fittings) against mill test certificates (MTCs) and material receiving reports.

Welding & NDT Oversight: Perform pre-weld, fit-up, in-process, and final visual weld inspections. Coordinate and monitor third-party Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as PT, MT, UT, and RT.

Document Control & QC Reporting: Prepare daily quality inspection reports, maintain material test certificates, prepare non-conformance reports (NCRs), and compile complete Quality Control Dossiers / Manufacturer Data Reports (MDR).

Surface Preparation & Coating: Inspect surface preparation (grit blasting) and application of paint/coatings for dry film thickness (DFT) and adhesion standards where applicable.

Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, ASME/API/AWS codes, and internal ISO quality management standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical discipline.

Experience: 3 to 5+ years of experience in quality inspection within steel fabrication, machine shops, piping, or industrial mechanical engineering environments.

Certifications (Preferred):

CSWIP 3.1 or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

ASNT Level II in PT, MT, UT, or RT is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, isometric drawings, and welding symbols.

Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, DFT gauges, total stations/alignment gauges).

Language & Availability: Fluent in English (written and verbal). Must be available to join immediately.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
