About the role

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review secondary electrical design drawings, schematics and engineering documents for HV substations.

Develop and review protection, control, metering and monitoring schemes.

Prepare/review single-line diagrams, control & protection schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, cable schedules and termination details.

Coordinate interfaces between protection & control, SCMS/SAS, telecom and other substation systems.

Review technical specifications, equipment drawings, vendor documents and material submittals.

Perform engineering calculations and prepare technical documentation as required.

Coordinate design activities with primary, civil, SCMS and other engineering disciplines.

Liaise with clients, consultants, OEMs and project teams to resolve design and interface issues.

Support FAT, SAT, testing and commissioning activities from the design perspective.

Incorporate design changes and prepare final as-built documentation.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

8–12 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in secondary design for HV substation projects.

Strong experience in protection, control, metering and secondary system design.

Good knowledge of substation protection and control philosophies, schematics and interfaces.

Experience with SCMS/SAS and IEC 61850 interfaces is highly preferred.

Experience preparing and reviewing detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Previous experience on utility/transmission substation projects is highly preferred.

UAE/GCC substation experience will be an advantage.

Strong technical, design coordination and problem-solving skills.

Pay: AED13,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
