About the role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager – Lighting to take ownership of lighting projects from award through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, to the required quality standards, and in line with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery
Take full ownership of assigned lighting projects from project award to final handover.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and delivery plans.
Coordinate project activities across design, estimation, procurement, production, logistics, installation, and site teams.
Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
Identify project risks, delays, and dependencies and take proactive corrective action.
Ensure smooth coordination between internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and site teams.
Lighting Project Coordination
Review lighting drawings, specifications, BOQs, shop drawings, material submittals, and project requirements.
Coordinate with lighting designers, engineers, consultants, MEP teams, architects, and contractors.
Ensure lighting products and installations comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
Coordinate mock-ups, samples, technical approvals, testing, commissioning, and final installation.
Resolve technical and site-related issues in coordination with the relevant teams.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key project stakeholders.
Attend project meetings, site meetings, coordination meetings, and progress reviews.
Prepare and share project updates, action points, and progress reports.
Manage client expectations and ensure timely communication throughout the project.
Build strong professional relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
Commercial & Cost Control
Monitor project budgets, variations, additional works, and project costs.
Coordinate with the commercial and finance teams on project billing, collections, and financial status.
Review variations and ensure additional works are properly documented and approved.
Monitor project profitability and highlight potential commercial risks to management.
Ensure purchase orders, material orders, and subcontractor requirements are aligned with project budgets and timelines.
Procurement & Logistics
Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure materials are ordered and delivered as per project requirements.
Track material lead times and proactively manage potential delays.
Coordinate delivery schedules with site requirements.
Ensure materials received are in accordance with approved specifications and quantities.
Site & Installation Management
Coordinate with site teams and installation contractors to ensure smooth execution.
Monitor installation progress, workmanship, and adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
Conduct regular site visits and inspections.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging, rectification, and final handover.
Ensure all project documentation and handover requirements are completed.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure drawings, approvals, RFIs, submittals, variation orders, meeting minutes, and other project records are properly maintained.
Prepare regular project status reports for management.
Maintain project trackers and ensure all actions and deadlines are followed up.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within lighting, electrical, interior fit-out, construction, or related industries.
Strong understanding of lighting systems, lighting products, drawings, specifications, and installation processes.
Experience managing projects from award through completion and handover.
Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, procurement, site coordination, and commercial management.
Ability to read and understand lighting layouts, technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, project management tools, and relevant ERP/project management systems.
