Mechanical Production Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a Mechanical Production Engineer to plan, coordinate, and monitor production activities, ensuring efficient manufacturing and fabrication processes. The role will be responsible for production planning, manpower and resource coordination, quality control, technical drawing interpretation, and ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and within project specifications.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production and fabrication activities, ensuring production targets, project schedules, and delivery requirements are achieved.

Read and interpret engineering, fabrication, GA drawings, and technical specifications, ensuring accurate execution of cutting, machining, drilling, bending, fit-up, welding, assembly, and finishing activities.

Coordinate and allocate manpower, materials, machinery, tools, and equipment while monitoring production progress, productivity, material consumption, downtime, rework, and rejection.

Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, Procurement, Maintenance, and Project teams to resolve technical and production issues and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.

Monitor CNC machines, fabrication equipment, welding and cutting machinery, coordinate preventive maintenance, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and production delays.

Prepare daily production, progress, manpower, material consumption, and productivity reports, while supporting cost control, waste reduction, and efficient resource utilization.

Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, PPE requirements, safe working practices, and workshop standards, while supporting continuous improvement in productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

2- 5 years of experience in fabrication, production, workshop management, or structural/heavy steel fabrication, with strong hands-on industry exposure.

Excellent knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, cutting, fit-up, assembly, CNC machinery, engineering drawings, WPS/PQR, QA/QC, inspection, and HSE requirements.

Strong leadership, manpower management, production planning, project scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, and productivity improvement skills, with experience managing large fabrication teams.

Proficiency in MS Office, production reporting, and ERP/MRP systems; GCC/UAE fabrication industry experience will be an advantage.
