Procurement Engineer (EPC/Infrastructure)
About the role
Key Responsibilities
Manage procurement activities from receipt of material requisitions through supplier selection, purchase order placement and delivery.
Review BOQs, drawings, specifications and material requirements to prepare and issue RFQs to suitable vendors.
Obtain and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations and prepare technical and commercial comparison/bid analysis.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial conditions with suppliers.
Identify, evaluate and develop qualified vendors and maintain an effective supplier database.
Prepare purchase orders/LOIs and ensure compliance with approved technical and commercial requirements.
Coordinate with engineering, estimation, projects, QA/QC, commercial and finance teams throughout the procurement cycle.
Coordinate technical submittals and material approvals with suppliers and project teams.
Monitor procurement schedules and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Track procurement costs against project budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain procurement logs, vendor documentation and related records.
Support resolution of technical, commercial and delivery issues with suppliers and subcontractors.
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred; Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline may also be considered depending on experience.
8–12 years of overall experience, with strong hands-on experience in engineering procurement within the UAE/GCC.
Proven procurement experience in EPC, infrastructure, utilities, substations, pumping stations, water/wastewater or similar engineering projects.
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, technical specifications and material requirements.
Experience in RFQs, technical/commercial evaluation, bid analysis, vendor selection, negotiation and purchase orders.
Good knowledge of the UAE supplier/vendor market for engineering and construction materials.
Experience coordinating material submittals, approvals and project delivery requirements.
Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, analytical and cost-control skills.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
UAE driving licence is an advantage.
Pay: AED13,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
