About the role
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out inspection of welding activities in accordance with approved WPS, drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, materials, consumables, and equipment prior to commencement of welding.
Inspect joint preparation, fit-up, alignment, welding parameters, and completed welds.
Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
Coordinate and witness NDT activities and review inspection/test reports.
Maintain weld inspection records, weld maps, material traceability, and related QA/QC documentation.
Raise and follow up on NCRs and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented and closed.
Coordinate inspections with the Client/Consultant and project QA/QC team.
Support testing, commissioning, and handover documentation related to welding works.
Requirements:
Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI certification is mandatory.
Relevant experience as a Welding Inspector on water transmission pipelines, water/wastewater, wet utilities, or similar infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of welding inspection, WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, NDT methods, material traceability, and QA/QC documentation.
Experience with DI/GRE/steel piping and associated mechanical works will be an advantage.
Previous UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
Good communication, inspection, documentation, and coordination skills.
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
