Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Manager to oversee and manage all fabrication and workshop operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and according to approved drawings, quality standards, and client specifications. The role will lead production teams, manage resources, monitor productivity, and coordinate with Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, Procurement, and Project teams.
Responsibilities
Plan, manage, and supervise overall fabrication and workshop operations, ensuring production targets, project schedules, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are achieved.
Lead steel fabrication activities including material preparation, cutting, fit-up, welding, drilling, grinding, assembly, finishing, and inspection, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Manage manpower, materials, machinery, equipment, and workshop resources, while supervising production teams and maximizing productivity and operational efficiency.
Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, Procurement, Projects, Maintenance, HSE, clients, and third-party inspectors to resolve technical, production, quality, and material-related issues.
Monitor production progress, productivity, manpower utilization, material consumption, rework, rejection, equipment performance, and project completion, while implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with WPS, PQR, ITP, QA/QC procedures, welding and inspection requirements, project specifications, HSE standards, and client requirements, including dimensional and NDT inspections.
Prepare and review production, manpower, material, productivity, and project progress reports, while supporting cost control, resource optimization, housekeeping, and timely project delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
2- 5 years of experience in fabrication, production, workshop management, or structural/heavy steel fabrication, with strong hands-on industry exposure.
Excellent knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, cutting, fit-up, assembly, CNC machinery, engineering drawings, WPS/PQR, QA/QC, inspection, and HSE requirements.
Strong leadership, manpower management, production planning, project scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, and productivity improvement skills, with experience managing large fabrication teams.
Proficiency in MS Office, production reporting, and ERP/MRP systems; GCC/UAE fabrication industry experience will be an advantage.
