About the role
Ergo are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity in Dublin with a global network provider.
We need inquisitive problem-solvers with strong Linux, virtualisation and networking skills to support IT operations working an early shift (7 AM start).
You will work in a geographically dispersed team with global specialists on bleeding-edge technologies building and testing solutions within complex simulated environments.
This is a hybrid role with great day rates and long-term potential. Candidates should be based in central Dublin with easy access to the office.
What will you do?
Performing regular patching, updates, and maintenance of both physical and virtual servers, network devices, and storage systems.
Proactively monitoring systems and applications to identify potential issues before they impact services
Serving as the first point of contact for technical issues related to the lab infrastructure
Develop automation scripts, tools, and/or frameworks
Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Identifying opportunities to automate routine tasks and improve existing operational workflows
Collaborating with other operations engineers and datacenter engineers to integrate new systems and components into the existing network infrastructure
You should have experience in the following:
3+ years in a similar role (SRE, DevOps, Linux Administrator)
Linux Systems administration
Networking including networking protocols, basic routing, ports, and firewalls
Virtualized environments (e.g. VMware)
Monitoring tools (Splunk / Datadog an advantage)
Scripting
Tools such as Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, Docker an advantage
