Sr Technical Manager-Steel Detailing

vConstruct is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Manager to provide strategic technical leadership across our Structural Steel detailing operations.

This role is responsible for defining the organization's technical standards, driving innovation, developing technical leaders, strengthening client partnerships, and ensuring technical excellence across all projects, teams, and offices.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional technical expertise with leadership, innovation, and a passion for developing people and advancing the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Define and maintain company-wide technical standards and detailing methodologies.

Provide strategic technical leadership across multiple offices and project teams.

Mentor Technical Manager II's, Technical Managers, and future technical leaders.

Serve as the highest technical escalation point for complex projects.

Lead innovation initiatives, digital transformation, Detailing and BIM strategy.

Partner with Operations Leadership on organizational planning and business growth.

Support major client pursuits, executive presentations, and strategic partnerships.

Drive enterprise quality initiatives and technical governance.

Lead technical communities of practice, training programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments.

Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and client engagements where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

More than 15-18 years of experience in Structural Steel detailing, BIM, or VDC.

Extensive leadership experience across technical teams and major construction programs.

Demonstrated success developing technical organizations and technical standards.
