The organization also has backward integration through its forging facility, giving the Quality Head responsibility across both raw-material/forging quality and downstream machining quality.

Position Overview

Mighty Machines is looking for an experienced Quality Head to lead the company's Quality Assurance and Quality Control function across its precision machining and heavy engineering operations.

The Quality Head will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and continuously improving the company's quality management systems while ensuring that products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, dimensional requirements, material specifications and applicable quality standards.

The role will require strong hands-on understanding of CNC machining, forged and cast components, shafts, gearbox components and heavy engineering products.

The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in:

Precision Engineering / CNC Machining / Heavy Engineering Component Manufacturing

with exposure to one or more of the following:

1. CNC & Precision Machining

Strong experience in quality control for:

CNC Turning

VMC

HMC

Precision machining

Multi-operation machining

High-precision components

Tight-tolerance components

Dimensional inspection

Process capability

Machining process validation

The candidate should understand how machining parameters and process variations affect dimensional accuracy, surface finish and component quality.

2. Forging & Forged Components

Experience with quality systems related to:

Forged components

Ring forgings

Open-die / closed-die forging

Forging process inspection

Heat treatment

Forging defects

Material traceability

Dimensional inspection

Metallurgical testing

Raw-material certification

This is particularly relevant because Mighty Machines has backward integration with a forging facility equipped with pneumatic hammer, furnace, ring rolling, EOT crane and band-saw cutting facilities.

3. Casting & Cast Components

Experience in quality assurance of:

Cast components

Casting defects

Dimensional inspection

Material verification

Surface defects

NDT coordination

Machining allowance verification

4. Heavy Engineering Components

Experience with quality management for:

Heavy engineering components

Large-size components

Industrial machinery components

5. Windmill / Gearbox Components

Experience in quality assurance of:

6. Crusher / Mining Equipment Components

Experience with:

Crusher machine components

Key Responsibilities1. Quality Function Leadership

Take complete ownership of the Quality function.

Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams.

Establish quality objectives aligned with business goals.

Develop and monitor quality KPIs.

Ensure quality requirements are understood across Production, Purchase, Stores, Engineering and Supplier functions.

Build a strong "Quality at Source" culture.

2. Incoming Quality Control

Ensure quality of incoming:

Forgings

Castings

Raw materials

Bars

Plates

Components

Bought-out items

Tools and consumables

Responsibilities include:

Material verification

MTC verification

Dimensional inspection

Visual inspection

Hardness testing

Chemical composition verification

NDT coordination where required

Supplier documentation

3. In-Process Quality Control

Develop robust controls for:

CNC machining

Turning

Milling

Grinding

Drilling

Boring

Heat treatment

Forging

Cutting

Sub-assembly operations

Ensure:

Process inspection

First-piece approval

Patrol inspection

SPC

Process capability monitoring

Control plans

Work instructions

Gauge control

Traceability

4. Final Quality Inspection

Ensure final products meet:

Customer drawings

Engineering specifications

Dimensional requirements

GD&T requirements

Material specifications

Surface-finish requirements

Performance specifications

Packaging requirements

Oversee final inspection and release of products before dispatch.

5. Metrology & Measurement Systems

Lead the company's measurement and inspection systems.

Experience with the following will be preferred:

Vernier Calipers

Micrometers

Bore Gauges

Height Gauges

Plug Gauges

Surface Roughness Measurement

Profile Measurement

CMM

Precision Measuring Instruments

The candidate should have strong understanding of calibration systems and measurement-system accuracy.

Knowledge of MSA / Gauge R&R will be highly preferred.

6. GD&T & Engineering Drawing Interpretation

The Quality Head must be capable of independently interpreting:

Machining allowances

Strong knowledge of drawing-based inspection and dimensional control is essential.

This is a plant-based leadership position and requires regular presence at the manufacturing facility.
