Internal Audit Manager - Mumbai
About the role
The Manager – Internal Audit will be responsible for planning and executing risk-based internal audits across business functions, evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and recommending process improvements to strengthen governance and risk management.
Job Responsibility
Plan, execute, and manage risk-based internal audits across business operations, including credit, operations, finance, collections, treasury, IT, and support functions.
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management frameworks.
Assess compliance with applicable RBI, NHB, Companies Act, and other regulatory guidelines.
Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting observations, root causes, risk implications, and practical recommendations.
Discuss the queries/report with the Management.
Preparation and maintenance of Work papers.
Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Support the development and execution of the annual risk-based internal audit plan.
Analyse data using audit analytics and technology-enabled audit techniques to improve audit coverage and effectiveness.
Explore and adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled tools and analytics to improve audit planning, testing, reporting, and continuous monitoring.
Stay updated with changes in regulatory requirements, industry practices, and emerging risks relevant to the HFC/NBFC sector.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a high-performing internal audit function.Key Skills:Mandatory:
The role requires strong domain expertise in the Housing Finance/NBFC sector, sound knowledge of RBI/NHB regulations, and the ability to leverage technology and AI-driven tools to enhance audit efficiency.
Stay updated with changes in regulatory requirements, industry practices, and emerging risks relevant to the HFC/NBFC sector.
Effective Communication Skills
Proficiency in MS Office, strong analytical skills,
