ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
1. Responsible for monthly invoice payments.
2. Approves expense reports.
3. Assists in closing Merit financial records.
4. Processes sales tax returns.
5. Assists in researching and solving problem accounts.
6. Prepares month end reports for use by the department in month-end balancing.
7. Works with other employees to assist them in completing projects and tasks within the department.
8. Performs a variety of other accounting tasks, as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalency.
A minimum of one year of responsible accounting experience.
A broad knowledge of accounting and financial control principles and their business applications.
Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in performing accounting tasks.
Demonstrated human relations and effective written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheet, word processing database, and other applicable software programs.
