Project Manager - Entrance Automation Systems

Role summary:

The Project Manager is the single point of accountability for each purchase order treated as a separate project, from PO acceptance through installation, handover and till the warranty period. This role coordinates internal teams, manages timelines, controls costs, ensures quality and safety, and owns receivables and customer satisfaction for projects ranging from large fabric hanger doors to small motorized rolling shutters and various types of motorized and manual gates and doors.

Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership

Accept and own each PO as a discrete project; establish project plan, milestones, resource plan and risk register.

Planning and Scheduling

Produce and maintain a detailed project schedule aligned to the company standard (typical duration 6–8 weeks; min 3 weeks; max 12 weeks).

Cross‑functional Coordination

Coordination with internal stakeholders like Sales, Back‑end Sales, Design, Purchase, Manufacturing, Quality, Stores, Dispatch, Installation and Service.

Procurement and Imports

Track lead times for imported/partially imported items; follow up with Purchase and Logistics to avoid delays.

Installation Management

Ensure NIHVA installation team mobilizes per site readiness; manage on‑site execution, demobilization and remobilization logistics.

Quality and Warranty

Ensure installations meet technical and warranty requirements; own post‑sales service escalation until warranty closure.

Customer Interface

Act as primary client contact for project status, site readiness, approvals, and acceptance.

Commercials and Receivables

Monitor project costs, approve change orders within delegated authority, raise invoices and follow up on payments; own Days Sales Outstanding for assigned projects.

Risk, Safety and Compliance -

Maintain HSE compliance on site; ensure permits, access and safe working conditions are in place.

Reporting -

Provide weekly project status, variance reports and lessons‑learned at project close.

Continuous Improvement

Capture installation and service feedback to improve product, process and documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience -

5–10+ years in project management for mechanical/electromechanical or automation projects; experience with site installations and imported equipment preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology or equivalent; PMP or equivalent certification desirable.

Technical Skills

Understanding of door automation systems, electrical/mechanical installation practices, BOMs, and basic civil/site requirements.

Commercial Acumen

Budgeting, cost control, change order management and basic contract terms understanding.

Tools

Proficient with MS Project or equivalent, Excel, ERP modules for project tracking, and CRM for customer interactions.

Soft Skills

Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, decisive problem solving, clear written and verbal communication, and leadership under pressure.

Personal Attributes

Detail oriented, customer focused, resilient, and safety conscious.

Notes on measurement

On Time Delivery counts from PO acceptance to client sign‑off.

Average project duration is the mean across projects in the quarter.

Budget variance = (Actual cost − Budgeted cost) / Budgeted cost.

Warranty call rate = number of projects with warranty claims ÷ total projects.

DSO measured from invoice date to cash receipt.

Sample Quarterly and Monthly Goals

Quarterly

Deliver 95% of projects within agreed schedule.

Reduce average DSO by 10% vs previous quarter.

Achieve CSAT ≥ 4.2.

Monthly

Close all open change orders older than 30 days.

Update risk register weekly and resolve top 3 risks.

Ensure 100% of active projects have valid site readiness confirmation and photos before mobilization.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
