Department: Climate Tech / Carbon Projects Position: Carbon Project Manager / Head Location: Kolkata Head Office Reporting To: Promoter / Managing Director Employment Type: Full-Time Travel: Regular travel to project locations as required
1. Job Purpose
The Carbon Project Manager / Head will take ownership of the Company's Biochar Carbon Removal & Carbon Credit Project, managing the project from implementation and documentation through MRV, validation, verification, carbon-credit issuance and commercialisation.
2. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the development and implementation of biochar carbon-removal projects.
Develop project timelines, milestones and ensure timely execution.
Coordinate carbon accounting, methodology implementation, MRV and project data management.
Manage project documentation required for registration, validation, verification and credit issuance.
Act as the key coordination point with carbon registries, Carbonfuture, consultants, laboratories and VVBs.
Coordinate validation and verification processes, including responses to queries and corrective actions.
Ensure project data, records and documentation are accurate, complete and compliant with applicable requirements.
Coordinate with technical, operations and management teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Support carbon-credit sales, buyer discussions, commercial documentation and revenue realisation in coordination with management.
Maintain regular communication and progress reporting to the Promoter / Managing Director.
Stay updated on developments in carbon-removal methodologies, standards and carbon markets.

Validation, verification and carbon-credit issuance
Stakeholder management
Carbon-credit commercialisation support

4. Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience in carbon projects, carbon removal, biochar, climate-tech or sustainability.
Good understanding of carbon accounting, MRV, carbon-credit methodologies and certification processes.
Experience coordinating consultants, registries, VVBs, laboratories and other external agencies.
Strong project management, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to independently take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.
Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.
Willingness to travel to project locations as required.
Ability to work in a rapidly evolving carbon-removal industry.
5. Work Requirements
The role is based at the Kolkata Head Office with regular travel to project locations and other locations as required. Due to the nature of the project, flexibility to work beyond normal hours may occasionally be required during critical project activities, site work, verification or buyer meetings.
