Construction Project Manager, Ultrapure Water
About the role
What to Expect
The UPW Construction Manager oversees construction and installation of ultra-pure water systems used in the semiconductor chip fab. This role manages contractors executing high-purity piping, treatment skids, storage, distribution, and controls - with strict attention to cleanliness, material integrity, schedule, safety, and specification compliance.
What You'll Do
Manage field construction of UPW generation, storage, and distribution systems, including pretreatment, RO, EDI/DI, UV, ultrafiltration, polishing loops, and point-of-use drops
Coordinate mechanical, high-purity piping, electrical, instrumentation, and clean-construction trades to maintain sequence, quality, and productivity
Enforce high-purity installation standards: material handling, orbital welding/fusion procedures, purge practices, cleanliness protocols, and contamination control
Review IFC drawings, isometric packages, P&IDs, specifications, and vendor submittals; raise RFIs and constructability comments promptly
Track schedule for long-lead UPW equipment (RO/EDI skids, pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, analyzers) and align deliveries with install windows
Coordinate tie-ins to facility utilities (city water, wastewater, power, controls, nitrogen/CDA) with minimal disruption to operations
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or equivalent experience
4–6 years of construction management, field engineering, or superintendent experience in industrial, municipal, or process infrastructure projects
Exposure to UPW, DI water, high-purity process water, or critical utility systems (PCW, CDA, bulk gases, WFI/clean utilities)
Basic understanding of process piping systems, equipment settings, and utility installation practices
Strong commitment to safety and quality in high-spec installation environments
Effective communicator who can coordinate multiple trades and interfaces with engineering and owne
Experience with semiconductor fab, battery gigafactory, pharmaceutical, or life-sciences construction projects
