Residential Construction Project Manager / Assistant PM – New Construction and Additions

About the Position

AY Development is looking for a motivated Residential Construction Project Manager / Assistant PM to help manage ground-up new home construction projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

This is a great opportunity for someone with residential construction experience who is ready to take on more responsibility and grow into a senior Project Manager role as our company and project volume.

We are not necessarily looking for someone with 10+ years of management experience. We care more about finding someone who understands residential construction, is highly organized, takes ownership, communicates well, and knows how to keep subcontractors and projects moving.

What You'll Do

Help manage ground-up residential projects from pre-construction through completion

Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and vendors

Visit jobsites regularly and monitor progress

Review plans, specifications, selections, and scopes of work

Coordinate material orders and deliveries

Track construction schedules and identify delays before they become problems

Assist with project budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and change orders

Coordinate city inspections and follow up on corrections

Perform quality-control inspections throughout construction

Hold subcontractors accountable for workmanship, schedule, and jobsite cleanliness

Maintain project photos, documentation, and progress reports

Manage punch lists and help bring projects through final inspection and CO

Communicate regularly with ownership regarding schedule, costs, problems, and upcoming decisions

Who We're Looking For

2–4+ years of residential construction experience preferred

Experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Project Coordinator

Ground-up residential construction experience strongly preferred

Good understanding of the home-building process from foundation through final completion

Ability to read architectural and construction drawings

Understanding of construction sequencing and inspections

Comfortable managing and communicating with subcontractors

Organized and able to manage multiple priorities

Strong problem-solving skills

Detail-oriented with high standards for workmanship

Comfortable working both in the field and in the office

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for DFW jobsites

Compensation & Growth

Starting salary: $65,000/year + performance-based bonuses

Bonuses will be based on project performance, including schedule, budget control, quality, inspections, and successful project completion.
