Internal Software Developer

Introduction:

The Electrician Inc. is building an internal operations platform to help run our business day-to-day. It is live and in daily use. We are looking for a junior-to-mid full-stack JavaScript developer to help us ship new features and keep the existing system healthy, working alongside our leadership team and AI-assisted coding tools. This is a contract-to-hire role with flexible, remote-friendly hours.

Our deal candidate will have:

● Full-stack comfort with Node.js/Express, SQL, and hands-on frontend JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

● Experience integrating at least one finicky third-party REST API (ERP, payments, or similar).

● Solid Git fundamentals and the discipline to test on a staging environment before touching production.

● A debugging habit driven by real evidence - logs, console output, and actual error text, not guesses.

● The ability to explain technical work plainly to non-developers.

● Bonus: experience with ERP/accounting systems (Acumatica a plus), PWAs, or AI-assisted development workflows.

The primary responsibilities for this position are:

● Build and ship new modules and features across the full stack (Node/Express backend, vanilla JS/HTML frontend, PostgreSQL).

● Integrate and maintain connections to our Acumatica ERP and other third-party APIs.

● Diagnose and fix bugs from production logs and user reports.

● Follow our staging-to-production workflow: build and verify staging before promoting to live.

● Communicate progress, blockers, and changes clearly with the team.

● Within 60 miles of Verona, WI area with periodic in-person collaboration will be required.

Compensation:
