Job Description:
Our current vacancy is for our Crankshaft Salvage department
Perform salvage techniques on a variety of machines which may include horizontal Lathes and Radial Arm Drills, Milling Machines, and Surface Grinders; basic operation of CNC equipment (Mills and Lathes)
Candidates with experience operating manual lathes are of particular interest, but not required
Maintain and clean equipment as required
Maintain Caterpillar contamination control initiatives
Qualifications:
Machinist Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is required
Multiple years’ working experience and competency in a crank, block salvage or machine shop
Experience operating horizontal and vertical Lathes, Radial Arm Drills, Milling Machines, Surface Grinders, and Plate Sanding is preferred
Experience/proficiency with CNC Mills and Lathes (reading and writing CNC programs) is preferred
Portable Line Boring experience is preferred
Must have accurate documentation and measuring skills
Must be able to understand salvage specifications and related technical documentation, including technical drawings
Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively
Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures
Note:
We are currently hiring for a static afternoon shift, Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per shift
Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
Hourly Rate: $53.05 / Hour + night shift premium
