We are seeking the best Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal preferred) to join our team in Williams Lake. Our Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment.

Job Description:
Major Job Functions
Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
Interface with customers, products and sales support
Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
Various related duties as required
Specific Skills & Experience
Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
Dedication to safety
Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems are considered assets
Engine and/or Component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
Previous Gas Engine and Power Generation experience would be considered an asset
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
Important Detail:
This is a position based out of our Williams Lake facility on a 5 x 2 shift (Monday – Friday)
A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Site Access (may include Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing and ability to wear a respirator)
Strong experience with Transmissions and Hydraulic Testing is required
Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 Years)
Union Membership:
You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
Compensation
This Trades & Manual role pays $105k-$116k/yr. Within typical range for trades & manual roles in United States.
