Position Overview: Finning Canada is looking for passionate field experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to join our team dedicated to servicing our customers in Dawson Creek and surrounding area. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and diagnostics of a variety of Caterpillar equipment, mainly in a field environment.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

Troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment in a service oriented General Line or Construction Equipment environment

Interface with customers, products and sales support

Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements

Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment

Various related duties as required

Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement

Specific Skills & Experience

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal)

Minimum of 5 years’ experience repairing CAT equipment, other dealer lines of equipment will be considered

Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

Completion, or in the process of completing all Finning S- level courses an asset

Self-motivated and computer literate

Strong experience with: Service Information Systems, Electronic Technician and Salesforce

Successful candidate will possess a strong business acumen, be customer focused and motivated to meet the customer's expectations

Ability to work safely with minimal supervision

Important Details:

This position will work a Monday to Friday day shift

Shift work may be required in the future

A recent driver’s abstract is required

A condition of employment will be the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (Drug/Alcohol/Fitness screening)
