As a Technical Writer for Rippling's Platform and Data offerings, you'll create, maintain, and enhance help documentation and training material for our platform and data products. We're looking for a dynamic content creator who can communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly, and turn those concepts into clear, educational content that resonates with learners.

In this role, you’ll be creating documentation for a wide range of audiences with varying degrees of technical aptitude. The ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both HR personas and technical software engineers is an important and must-have skill.

What you will do

Engage with Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams to identify and close knowledge gaps and improve self-service.

Incorporate structured content principles for single-sourcing information across locations and audiences, both human and AI.

Review, edit, and publish AI-assisted contributor content to meet style guidelines and quality standards.

Contribute your product and content expertise to the development of training materials including videos, system diagrams, infographics, and hands-on exercises.

Assist in the creation and maintenance of developer-focused content, including API guides and other developer tool guides.

Collaborate cross-functionally and participate in team brainstorming sessions to drive content innovation and strategy.

Review success metrics across content delivery methods.

Evangelize the Help Center; inspire other teams to contribute to our knowledge base as content creators or subject matter experts.

What you will need

Minimum 1-3 years of experience creating technical product documentation for a complex, data-centric platform or product suite. Must provide documentation samples.

Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with various stakeholders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Experience testing product functionality and documentation to ensure technical accuracy in your writing.

Proficiency in writing structured content that uses variables and metadata to serve context-sensitive material to unique audiences.

Excellent writing and grammatical skills; content is clear, succinct, and logical.

Grit; a sustained history of hard work and perseverance.

Curiosity; a bias to constantly question, dig deeper, and learn.

Customer empathy; an ability to understand the technical and conceptual challenges of users trying to learn a new technology, combined with a passion to empower those individuals with the right documentation and training materials to self-serve and be successful.

Collaborative; the ability to work with others, on and off our team, to achieve common goals.

Nice to have:

Experience using SaaS platforms and tools related to data engineering, data system architectures, data connectors, and data ingestion methods (ELT, ETL).

Proficient in SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS).

Experience testing APIs and integration install flows.
