About the role
The Universal Kraft Group has been actively developing renewable energy solutions for over 20 years. Our projects span from wind and solar to waste-to-energy, water treatment, and energy storage solutions, including green Hydrogen and green Ammonia.
With offices in Canada, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden, we are continuously expanding our business and our team. We are currently looking for a Junior Jurist to join our dynamic and international team.
This role is ideal for a recent Law graduate or a junior legal professional with up to 2 years of experience who is interested in developing a career in the renewable energy sector. You will work closely with our legal and project teams, providing day-to-day legal support across the project lifecycle and gaining exposure to permitting, contracts, regulatory matters, and project development in multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day legal support to the business, particularly in relation to renewable energy project development
Conduct legal research and assist with the analysis of national and international legislation and regulatory frameworks
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organising contracts, permits, agreements, and other legal documents
Support the legal team in identifying and assessing legal and regulatory risks
Assist project teams with legal and compliance-related questions
Support permitting and licensing processes in different jurisdictions
Assist with communications and documentation involving governmental authorities, landowners, suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders
Monitor relevant regulatory and legislative developments in key markets, including Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Canada
Work closely with technical, commercial, development, and management teams to ensure legal matters are properly addressed
Support the management and organisation of legal documentation and external legal advice
Requirements
Degree in Law
0–2 years of professional experience; relevant internships or traineeships will be considered an advantage
Strong interest in renewable energy, environmental, administrative, or energy law
Basic knowledge of contract drafting and legal analysis
Good research and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and summarise legal matters clearly
Interest in developing knowledge of renewable energy regulatory frameworks
Fluent English, both written and spoken
Portuguese is an advantage; Spanish, Swedish, or French are a plus
Good command of Microsoft Office and ability to work with legal and business documentation
