Our strategy is to grow a world class food and beverage business that delivers market leading customer experiences every day. The Experience Designer has a key contributor role within the Insight and Innovation Department. The Experience Designer works alongside Consumer Insights within the Department as well as Project/Product Managers in other Divisions to design end-to -end customer experiences that drive incremental revenue, deliver margin and increase customer engagement. These projects may be new innovations and propositions or may relate to improving upon existing products and services within the Musgrave ecosystem. They will cover B2C (SuperValu, Centra and other brands) or B2B (Musgrave Marketplace, Suppliers’ services), along with relevant internal and retailer facing projects.

This job requires strong project management skills to coordinate projects processes, resources and documents. They will also need good listening skills in order to understand end user needs and be comfortable taking information from research and distilling it down into key insights. This person will have a pragmatic and curious mindset, constantly seeking to find a better way. They will be willing and able to think outside of box to both stretch ideas and their own expertise. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, outgoing environment where the focus is on tacking complex problems, envisioning the future and early-stage ideation.

Reporting to the Customer Experience & Proposition Manager they will be responsible for:

Working with a multidisciplinary team as a hands-on experience designer. Visualise, articulate, and solve problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on available evidence.

Influencing and shaping stakeholder objectives. Working with project owners to support a future vision and priorities for service and product transformation.

Conducting research across the various forms to frame problems/goals, learn ‘why’, identify bias, and oversee process with an informed point of view adhering to your findings. Includes collaborating with our colleagues in charge of data analytics and quantitative research.

Effectively present research/project findings using diverse set of methods in an engaging and inspiring way and with very clear actions and recommendations based on the learnings.

Bringing fresh thinking to all our projects by using innovation and ideation techniques collaborating with key players internally and externally.

Coordinate projects’ internal process including purchase orders administration, recruiting requests, project files management, incentives ordering, etc.

Facilitate innovation workshops with various parts of the business as needed.

Support the promotion the Service Design/Design Thinking methodology into areas of Musgrave where it doesn’t exist and upskilling relevant people in the business to become more customer centric and innovative.

Constantly self-upskilling in the area of innovation/Service Design to lead the way in new approaches in the Insight & Innovation Department and Musgrave and be seen to be a true world-class leader of Experience Design.

What we are looking for:

A third level Degree ideally in Marketing, Business, Innovation or Design or some related discipline where user understanding is key

1 or more years of hands-on Service Design/Design thinking, Insights, Innovation or UX experience would be helpful, but not specifically necessary as there will be on the job training and coaching.

Strong project management skills including problem-solving abilities.

A solid grasp of planning and conducting user research

Designing and facilitating (remote/in person) workshops for brainstorming, ideation, synthesis and mapping would be helpful however again there will be training in this

Outgoing, comfortable talking to people and presenting.

Excellent communications skills including verbal and written, change management skills, ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic results driven organisation.
