What to Expect
Our Used Cars team is growing. Joining Tesla means being a part of a team of the most talented people, working on innovative automotive technology and on the most advanced cars in production today.
As a Used Cars technician, you'll be responsible for upholding Tesla's standards and delivering on exceptional refurbishment standards for every Tesla customer, while preparing to meet the needs of the Used car refurbishment team and wider business.
This role will pay between $35 - $45 per hour, based on a full time working week of 38 hours.
What You'll Do
Execute basic diagnostic, part removal and replacement work on used Tesla vehicles
Utilise company supplied laptop to support diagnostics, repairs and communication
Cosmetic & paint inspections following guidelines
Consistently and concisely report work completed as per Tesla standards
Work independently and as a team to drive maximum refurbishment efficiency
Provide feedback to internal Tesla teams to enable continuous improvement of procedures and products.
Participate with a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful attitude in an ever-changing dynamic environment
Operate a variety of top-of-the-line hand, power and shop tools
Test drive vehicles post refurbishment to validate repair and ensure vehicles meet Tesla standards
Inspect and maintain service equipment and request for replacements, as required
Partner with other teams to fulfil wider-business objectives (such as detailing and configuration of vehicles) to ensure smooth delivery of Tesla products to customers
What You'll Bring
Fully qualified Motor Mechanic or Registered Vehicle Technician (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a fully qualified Motor Mechanic or Technician.
Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts and tools used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles (includes testing, diagnosis, HVAC service, hydraulic, brakes, testing and repair of electronic systems and modules).
Basic knowledge following diagnostics pathways
Experience working with EVs or Hybrid Vehicles a bonus.
A creative problem solver who is open to new ideas, approaches and an advocate for the Tesla brand

Compensation
This Other role pays $73k-$94k/yr. Within typical range for other roles in New Zealand.
