Position Overview

The Design Center Appliance Specialist serves as the primary subject-matter expert for high-end appliances within the showroom. This role is responsible for guiding clients and internal partners through appliance selection, preparing quotes, processing orders, and ensuring accuracy throughout the sales and fulfillment process.

In addition to appliances, the Appliance Specialist serves as a backup support resource for garage doors when needed, assisting with general product knowledge and coordination while partnering with garage door specialists for detailed specifications and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Focus – Appliances

Serve as the expert on high-end kitchen and home appliances.

Guide clients through appliance selection based on functionality, performance, layout, and design needs.

Provide detailed explanations of appliance features, benefits, specifications, and installation requirements.

Prepare accurate quotes and process appliance orders.

Coordinate with vendors, sales teams, and internal partners to ensure correct specifications and timely order execution.

Conduct product demonstrations and walkthroughs to support confident client decisions.

Stay current on appliance trends, innovations, and manufacturer updates.

Backup Support – Garage Doors

Serve as a secondary support resource for garage doors as needed.

Assist with general product knowledge, design considerations, and initial client questions.

Coordinate with garage door specialists or sales team members for detailed specifications, quoting, and ordering.

Sales Support & Coordination

Partner with consultants, sales team members, and Experience Leads to support appliance sales.

Participate in client meetings and showroom appointments as needed.

Support showroom sales goals through expertise, preparation, and follow-through.

Showroom Presentation & Merchandising

Ensure appliance displays are accurate, organized, and reflective of current offerings.

Support showroom merchandising standards and product updates.

Assist with maintaining clean, professional, and functional display areas.

Cross-Functional Support

Collaborate with showroom team members to deliver a seamless client experience.

Provide coverage or assistance during peak traffic periods or showroom events.

Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and product education.

Administrative & Order Management

Maintain accurate records of quotes, orders, and client interactions.

Ensure pricing, specifications, and documentation are complete and correct.

Assist with reporting on appliance sales activity and performance as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Interior Design, or a related field preferred.

5+ years of experience with high-end appliances required.

Strong technical knowledge of appliance products, specifications, and installation requirements.

Experience preparing quotes and processing orders in a showroom or sales environment.

Familiarity with garage doors is a plus; deep specialization is not required.

Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM or showroom systems is a plus.
