We are currently seeking a Housekeeping Porter to join the team in The Leinster. The ideal candidate will have a passion for details, with previous experience in Housekeeping, cleaning or hospitality roles.

Job Purpose
The Housekeeping Porter supports the Housekeeping team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency throughout the hotel. This role plays a key part in the smooth operation of the housekeeping department by managing linen movement, supplying equipment, supporting room attendants, maintaining public areas, and assisting guests as required. The Housekeeping Porter contributes directly to the overall guest experience by ensuring a clean, safe, and well-presented environment.
Key Deliverables
Housekeeping Support & Logistics
Assist HousekeepingAssistants by delivering linen, towels, amenities, and cleaning supplies to assigned floors.
Collect dirty linen and rubbish from service areas and transport to designated disposal or laundry points.
Support the preparation of guest rooms by restocking trolleys, moving equipment, and assisting with heavy or bulky items.
Maintain cleanliness of corridors, service areas, and back-of-house spaces throughout the shift.
Ensure all floor cupboards, storage rooms, and housekeeping areas remain tidy and organised.
Linen, Stock & Equipment Management
Monitor linen levels across floors and communicate shortages promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Sort, distribute, and store clean linen according to hotel procedures.
Ensure housekeeping trolleys are cleaned, stocked, and positioned correctly at the beginning and end of shifts.
Assist with inventory checks of linen, guest amenities, and cleaning supplies.
Support the safe use and movement of housekeeping equipment (e.g., vacuums, carts, cleaning machinery).
Guest Assistance & Service
Greet guests in a polite, friendly, and professional manner.
Provide assistance with guest requests where appropriate (e.g., extra pillows, luggage support, directions).
Ensure guest privacy, security, and confidentiality are always upheld.
Report any guest concerns or requests to the Accommodation Manager or relevant departments promptly.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Follow all hotel policies, including manual handling, chemical safety, and hygiene procedures.
Participate in fire safety training and understand emergency evacuation procedures.
Maintain safe working areas by removing obstacles, cleaning spills, and reporting hazards immediately.
Record and hand over lost property items in line with hotel policy.
Ensure safe disposal of waste and adherence to sustainability or recycling guidelines.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Previous experience in hotel accommodation, housekeeping, or a physical/operational role is an advantage but not essential.
Strong work ethic with a positive, proactive, and helpful attitude.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Reliable, organised, and capable of working independently when required.
Flexibility to work morning, evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
