About the role

Flare is a breakout cybersecurity Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company with a mission to empower organizations to take control of their data and protect their customers, employees and brand by shedding light on external threats. We enable cybersecurity teams to proactively detect high-risk external exposure across the dark and clear web, before threat actors have a chance to leverage it. We unify the core functionalities of cyber threat intelligence and external attack surface management into a single, intuitive platform.

TL;DR: We are a bunch of nerds who help protect our clients’ data (and people in their network) by locating cyber risks.

Your purpose and impact:

Partner with the sales team to articulate the value of the Flare platform to prospective customers

Understand customer requirements, field technical questions, and demonstrate platform capabilities by finding a prospects exposures

Develop use-cases, technical demos, and manage Proof of Concepts (POCs) end-to-end

Build strong relationships with technical stakeholders in customer organizations

Deliver threat briefings to sector ISACs (FS-ISAC, H-ISAC, RH-ISAC), connecting active cybercrime campaigns to the exposure member organizations actually face

Act as the analyst in the middle for enterprise customers and prospects, interpreting Flare findings in real time: leaked credentials, exposed infrastructure, threat actor mentions, and infostealer infections tied to their environment

Train sales team members on the technical aspects of Flare’s platform

Act as a technical consultant across Flare, supporting product, marketing, and other initiatives

Collaborate with the Threat Intelligence Research team, feeding field observations back into research and product, and contributing findings to external content where appropriate

Stay current on the CTI and cybercrime ecosystem (stealer logs, phishing kits, ransomware and extortion groups, initial access brokers, credential and data markets, dark web and Telegram) and keep that knowledge mapped to customer risk

Represent Flare at events, speaking engagements, and webinars; contribute to content like tutorials and videos

Bilingual (English/German) to be able to work in the DACH region

Flexibility to travel as needed

You’ll be a perfect fit if:

You bring relevant pre- and/or post-sales experience from a cybersecurity vendor in the threat intelligence space, or relevant client support experience in a cybersecurity services role

You have hands-on familiarity with the cybercrime ecosystem: stealer logs, phishing kits, underground forums and markets, Telegram, and the actors and infrastructure behind them

You are able to write simple automations in Python or Go

You’re comfortable as the primary technical contact during the sales process - leading demos, owning POCs, and resolving blockers

You have a keen attention to detail and pride yourself on thorough, accurate documentation

You consistently keep stakeholders updated - no one ever has to chase you

You have cybersecurity, OSINT, or threat intelligence expertise in areas such as:

Cybercrime, e-crime, or darkweb investigations

Incident Response

Penetration testing or Red Teaming

Threat Hunting & Research

You’re comfortable delivering threat briefings to community or ISAC audiences, not just customer demos

You can confidently engage with both technical and non-technical audiences - from analysts to executives

You’re comfortable with structured processes but also thrive in the ambiguity of a startup (“building the plane as it’s flying”)

You lead with curiosity and empathy, and genuinely care about clients and colleagues

You value feedback, embrace radical candor, and are motivated to continually improve

It’s even better if you have:

Experience building or refining pre-sales and technical sales processes

Ability to create technical enablement content (talk tracks, demo scripts, objection guides)

Existing relationships in sector ISACs or security working groups

A public research footprint: published research, conference presentations (DEF CON, BSides, Shmoocon, etc.), or media citations

History of working closely with product, marketing, or customer success to bring customer insights into strategy

Experience at an early-stage startup and a knack for balancing speed with quality

Willingness to pitch in outside your role when it helps the team succeed

What it’s like to be part of Flare:

You will find a people-first company where work-life balance is valued. You’ll receive:

Competitive salary

Bonus structure with uncapped sales commissions

Stock options

Health coverage and pension plan

Flexible, work from anywhere

Unlimited vacation

Fun, company events; like “Flamping, curling, rock climbing

You will join a high-growth, innovative scale up where you’ll see your impact immediately and be empowered to take on challenges for your personal and professional growth.

You will work with an inspiring and award-winning team who are passionate about what they do and the clients we serve, whose work has been referenced in leading academic journals and international media.
