Data QC Engineer (Manual/Automation)
Skills
About the role
ABOUT THE JOB
Review and understand business requirements, data flows, and key metrics (GMV, CVR, SKU, etc.) to design clear data test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
Work closely with Data Engineers and BI Engineers to define data validation rules, anomaly thresholds, and checklists to prevent data issues before reports are released.
Perform manual data testing and reconciliation across APIs, web‑crawled data, semantic tables, dashboards, and AI outputs to verify correctness and consistency.
Design and implement automation scripts (SQL/Python or similar) to call APIs, connect to databases, query related tables, and compare/reconcile data across multiple sources at scale.
Monitor data freshness and data quality, log issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and automatically create tickets (e.g. via Jira API) and send alerts (Slack/Telegram or similar) when anomalies or data source failures are detected.
Integrate data test scripts into CI/CD pipelines so that automated data tests are triggered after Data Engineering pipelines run, ensuring data is validated before reaching dashboards and reports.
Maintain structured test documentation (test cases, validation rules, logs) and contribute to continuous improvement of data testing and monitoring practices.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
2–4 years of experience as a Manual/Automation Tester, QA Engineer, or in a data‑related role (Data QA, Data Analyst, Data Engineer) with strong exposure to data validation and reconciliation.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases; familiarity with APIs and JSON data structures is a plus.
Hands‑on experience writing automation scripts (preferably in Python or a similar language) to extract, compare, and validate data automatically.
Good understanding of data quality and QA concepts: validation rules, anomaly detection, reconciliation, data freshness, defect lifecycle, and regression testing.
Experience with issue/test management tools (e.g. Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail or similar); exposure to BI/dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, high attention to detail, and an ownership mindset towards data accuracy and reliability.
Good communication skills in English (written and spoken), able to collaborate effectively with Data Engineers, BI Engineers, and business stakeholders.

Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.
As you know, every person is different and so is every role in a company. That is why we have to adapt accordingly, and the process may differ slightly at times. However, please know that we always put ourselves in the candidate's shoes to ensure they have the best possible experience.
We look forward to meeting you!
