We are looking for an experienced Tablet Press Operator to join our Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) Manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with hands-on tablet compression experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation and monitoring of tablet compression equipment, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), GMP requirements and company procedures.
In addition to tablet compression activities, the successful candidate may be required to provide support within the Film Coating department based on operational requirements and training received.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate tablet compression equipment in accordance with approved procedures and production schedules.
Prepare and assemble tooling, including punches and dies.
Conduct pre-operation checks and verify machine readiness.
Monitor tablet quality, including weight, hardness, thickness and appearance.
Perform in-process quality checks and accurately record results.
Complete production documentation and equipment logbooks in real time.
Perform line clearance and equipment cleaning activities.
Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, SOPs and company quality standards.
Report deviations, equipment faults and quality concerns promptly.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and workplace safety.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
Grade 12 / Matric.
Minimum 2–3 years' experience operating tablet compression equipment within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Experience working within a GMP-regulated environment.
Experience conducting in-process quality checks.
Experience completing batch manufacturing documentation.
Good understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements and procedures.
Advantageous
Experience within an Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) manufacturing facility.
Exposure to film coating operations.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing qualification or related technical training.
Experience participating in audits and inspections.
