Digital Electronics Design Engineer (f/m/d)

As a part of the Electronic Systems department at OHB you will be responsible for designing and testing electronic units for satellites. Our electronic units are processing high-resolution image data and sensor signals, controlling high precision motors, actively reducing mechanical vibrations and more. If you like to go unpaved paths, master the challenges of new requirements and find long-lasting solutions operating in harsh space environments, you should join our team. Your Tasks

Design complex digital electronic circuits for applications such as signal processing, instrument control, and data compression

Develop high-speed digital electronics, including multi-gigabit serial links and high-speed memory-to-FPGA interfaces

Verify circuit performance through simulation, including worst-case analysis, derating, and signal integrity analysis

Supervise PCB layout activities for multilayer and rigid-flex high-reliability PCBs

Test and validate your circuits in the laboratory as well as under extreme conditions during qualification and acceptance testing

Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical design, radiation engineering, EEE engineering, manufacturing, and FPGA/IP core design

Your Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a comparable discipline

At least 5 years of professional experience in the design of digital electronics hardware, including FPGAs, microcontrollers, and high-speed digital interface standards such as JESD204, DDR memory, PCI, or Wizard Link, ideally in the space industry

Knowledge of spacecraft communication interface standards such as SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553, and SpaceFibre

Experience with at least one programming language suitable for controlling automated test setups, such as Python or C/C++

Experience with ECAD design and simulation tools, e.g. Siemens PADS Professional, Xpedition, Spice, or HyperLynx

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
