About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile App Release Engineer to own and continuously improve the release lifecycle for our iOS and Android applications. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and predictable mobile application releases through automation, CI/CD pipeline management, release coordination, and close collaboration with engineering, QA, product, and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has experience managing enterprise mobile releases, automating build and deployment processes, maintaining App Store and Google Play deployments, and improving release quality through scalable engineering practices.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Release Management

Own the end-to-end release process for iOS and Android applications for programs

Coordinate release schedules across multiple engineering teams.

Manage production, beta, and internal testing releases.

Execute emergency hotfix and patch releases when required.

Ensure release readiness through established quality gates.

CI/CD & Automation

Build and maintain mobile CI/CD pipelines.

Automate build, testing, signing, packaging, and deployment workflows.

Improve release speed while maintaining reliability and security.

Reduce manual deployment activities through scripting and automation.

App Store Management

Submit and Publish applications to Apple App Store and Google Play.

Manage phased rollouts, staged deployments, and release approvals.

Coordinate app metadata updates and versioning.

Monitor store review status and deployment issues.

Release Quality

Monitor release metrics and post-release health.

Support rollback and recovery procedures.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Partner with engineering, product management, test, DQE, security, and support teams.

Participate in release planning meetings.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain release documentation and runbooks.

Document deployment procedures and rollback strategies.

Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance requirements.

Maintain release audit trails and change records.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of software engineering or release engineering experience

3+ years supporting mobile application releases

Experience with:

iOS and Android release processes

CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bitrise, CircleCI, or similar)

Fastlane

Git version control

App Store Connect

Google Play Console

Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell

Strong understanding of mobile application lifecycle management

Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

Mobile observability and monitoring tools

Experience supporting enterprise-scale mobile applications

Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$71,000.00 - $121,000.00

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $ 79,000.00 - $ 135,000.00 USD.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).
