Details: ACT Leave is the Statutory Authority responsible for administering the ACT's portable long service leave schemes. We are a small, purpose-driven organisation with a big remit.

About the role

Own the day-to-day communications that reach our community.

You'll run the engine room of ACT Leave's communications function. Turning strategy into the content, campaigns and channels that employers, workers and our own staff will read and find informative. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Communications, you will have real ownership of delivering results. You will work alongside our Senior Communications Officer to make it happen.

You will:

plan and deliver ACT Leave's communications activities. Everything from managing campaigns, publications and stakeholder communications, end to end.

own ACT Leave's website, social media and digital channels and see the engagement created.

be the first port of call for communications enquiries, working closely with the Assistant Director, Communications on anything sensitive.

mentor the Senior Communications Officer creating a small, highly productive and responsive team.

help shape ACT Leave's annual communications plan, not just execute someone else's.

About you

You have real experience running communications activities end-to-end. Everything from content to campaigns and managing digital channels. This role is not just about contributing to someone else's plan; you get to be one of the people creating the plan.

Comfortable adapting tone and message across a variety of audiences and channels including client guidance notes, annual reports and internal staff updates.

Confident using digital communication tools and platforms (Adobe Creative Cloud, web publishing, marketing software).

Some experience supervising or mentoring a team member, or ready to take a step into this.

Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, journalism or public relations, or equivalent runs on the board.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Preferred

Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Demonstrated experience developing and delivering communications content and campaigns.

Notes: A merit pool will be created from this recruitment process to fill identical vacancies in the next 12 months.
