Role Summary

The Senior Business Data Analyst plays a critical role in strengthening Equity Services Inc.'s ability to use data confidently, consistently, and strategically across the organization. This position serves as a trusted analytical partner, ensuring data is reliable, accurate, and positioned to support business decision-making, regulatory obligations, and enterprise priorities.

This role combines hands-on analytical execution with thoughtful problem solving and data structure organization across a complex data landscape. In addition to resolving data issues from identification through remediation, this individual will help define and improve how data is structured, governed, and leveraged to support scalable, long-term business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor data quality across multiple systems and domains, proactively identifying discrepancies and inconsistencies, investigating root causes, and implementing durable fixes and process improvements to prevent recurrence

Partner with upstream data owners to improve data capture, reduce downstream issues, and increase overall data reliability

Evaluate, maintain, and enhance data structures across structured and unstructured data sources

Contribute to the development and enforcement of consistent data definitions (e.g., client, account, household, AUM) across the organization

Develop analyses and insights using tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, and Databricks to support business, operational, and regulatory needs

Build scalable, repeatable data workflows in Alteryx to automate data preparation, transformation, and validation processes

Respond to ongoing business reporting and data requests, delivering timely, accurate, and well-structured outputs while identifying opportunities to improve, automate, or standardize recurring needs

Respond to internal and external regulatory, audit, and compliance-related data requests with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and defensibility

Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and scale data-related processes and workflows

Support and help operationalize the firm's evolving approach to data governance, ownership, and stewardship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience working with enterprise data across multiple domains, ideally within financial services or wealth management

Strong hands-on experience with Alteryx (data blending, workflow automation, and data quality processes)

Experience with Alteryx, Tableau and/or Databricks for data analysis and visualization

Working proficiency in SQL for data querying, validation, and analysis

Experience supporting regulatory or audit-related data requests in a regulated environment

Demonstrated ability to move from problem identification through root cause analysis to sustainable resolution

Experience improving or defining data structures, processes, or governance frameworks is strongly preferred

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language

Role Structure

This role reports to the VP of Technology, Strategy & Execution and is an individual contributor position with significant cross-functional exposure and the opportunity to meaningfully influence how data is managed and leveraged across the organization
