Based in the University of Sydney Business School in the School of Stategy, Innovation and Technology this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile research initiative exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping work and leadership in professional knowledge work.

You'll collaborate with leading industry partners including Commonwealth Bank, Deloitte, Telstra and Ashurst Perkins Coie, conducting research with real-world impact and helping organisations utilise AI in a responsible and people-centred way.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

conduct high quality empirical research on the impact of AI on work, leadership and organisations

collect, analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative research data

engage with industry partners, support research projects, and translate findings into practical outcomes for organisations and policymakers

prepare publications, reports and presentations for academic, industry and policy audiences

About you

You are an early career researcher with a completed PhD in a relevant discipline and a demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research. You bring strong analytical and communication skills, experience working with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, and the ability to engage effectively with a range of senior and junior stakeholders. You are organised, proactive and collaborative, with a genuine interest in producing research that informs practice and contributes to meaningful outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

a PhD in a relevant discipline such as information systems, organisational studies, business, management, leadership, sociology or a related field

good understanding of AI as a technology, beyond merely using AI tools

demonstrated experience conducting research and contributing to academic publications

experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research design, data collection and analysis

excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate findings to diverse audiences

strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

experience building productive relationships with academic, industry and external stakeholders

a proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach to research and teamwork

Work Rights
