District Sales Manager (DSM)

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to build their career with our Sales department as an District Sales Manager (DSM). The DSM role requires exceptional management of our District Sales Representative (DSR) sales performance. Your responsibilities will include:

Driving culture of high performance.

Coaching and developing our DSR’s to achieve profitable planned case and gross profit growth.

Schedule: Sunday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This is a salaried position schedule may change due to business demands.

Pay: $80,000-$95,000 based on experience

Responsibilities:

Conduct one-on-one coaching and direction meetings with each DSR on your team 3-5 times per week.

Meetings should include time for DSR’s to reflect on their goals and objectives and the parts of the sales process they think they need to work on.

Lead and facilitate district meetings that educate, inspire, and drive fundamental behavior changes that drive sales.

Reinforce success metrics for the team and provide a vision of continuous improvement and success in your territory.

Emphasize and demonstrate a continuous improvement mentality around technology, sales skills, soft skills, and product knowledge.

Leverage the Sales Support resources (i.e., Business Development, Training, and Sales Leadership) and tools to maximize the consultative time and process of the DSR.

Accountable for providing coaching, training, and timely feedback to drive DSR development of consultative selling skills.

Accountable for utilization of sales data tools (i.e., Looker System) to access results, plan, and executive on data driven needs.

Fully leverage our CRM (Zoho) in managing the DSR’s sales planning, prospecting, and daily customer engagement.

Conduct and document 30/60/90-day reviews with DSR’s.

DSR should understand sales learning goals and regularly review their success based on those goals.

Champion company initiatives and implement strategies within your district.

Prioritize independent relationships with top customers and high-value potential customers.

Conduct efficient Business Reviews that drive better connectivity with Nicholas and the success of their business needs.

Additional sales management responsibilities including, but not limited to, other operational duties and customer relationship management.

Required:

At least 2 years’ experience growing profitable sales in food service or similar industry.

Previous experience as a Sales Representative or Sales Manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.

Previous experience working with transportation departments and the ability to train DSR’s how to manage deliveries.

Previous experience evaluating market trends and recommending products to customers based on business needs and goals.

Previous experience in reviewing and analyzing daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid process, and sales/gross profit margin data.

Previous experience prospecting new business, penetrating existing accounts, and minimizing lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and particular objectives within assigned territory.

Enthusiasm for participating in ongoing training sessions.

Can attend and participate in general sales and district meetings.

Answering customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and product use.

Ability to project manage opportunities and initiatives strategically from beginning to end.

Ability to participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events.

Research customer business needs and develops a mix of products and service to meet needs.

Troubleshoot problems during the order process (i.e., out of stock items, special order items, low inventory, etc.).

Worked directly with credit departments and can train DSR’s to communicate and collect receivable when necessary.

Ability to perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filing reports.

Understanding of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales.

Share information with customers as part of value-added services provided and train DSR’s to do the same.
