Position Summary:

The Senior Import Production Manager oversees all aspects of imported product production for the US Wholesale business unit. This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and high-quality execution of products from overseas vendors while collaborating closely with Product Development, Sourcing, and Quality teams. The ideal candidate has strong experience managing international vendors, import logistics, and production schedules, along with a deep understanding of apparel manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end production process for imported products, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and cost targets are met.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with overseas vendors to monitor production progress and resolve issues proactively.

Coordinate with Product Development and Design teams to ensure accurate translation of design concepts into final products.

Oversee production schedules, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery.

Collaborate with Sourcing and Planning teams to optimize lead times, inventory planning, and cost efficiency.

Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and licensing standards for all imported products.

Track, analyze, and report production metrics to leadership, identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Manage documentation for import shipments, including production confirmations, packing lists, and compliance paperwork.

Mentor and guide junior production coordinators or assistants as needed.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, vendor performance, and product quality.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Production, Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.

7+ years of experience in apparel or accessories production management with a focus on imported products.

Strong knowledge of garment construction, materials, trims, and international production processes.

Experience managing overseas vendors, including communication, quality control, and lead-time management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with PLM, ERP, or production tracking systems.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of compliance, safety standards, and import regulations preferred.

Experience in licensed or branded product categories a plus.

Work Environment:

Office-based role with collaboration across Product Development, Design, Sourcing, and Quality teams.

Standard business hours with occasional flexibility during production peaks or critical milestones.

Hands-on role requiring review and approval of samples, vendor communication, and production documentation.

Compensation
