Position Overview
Marathon Special Products (MSP), a leading provider of power distribution blocks, terminal blocks, and electrical power connection solutions, is seeking a highly capable and results-oriented Senior Operations Manager to lead all manufacturing operations across MSP production sites: Bowling Green OH, Monterey MX, Contract Manufacturing Thailand and China, with aggressive expansion targets in the future.
This role is responsible for the overall performance of Operations, including Production, Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement. The successful candidate will build a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring world-class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory.
The Senior Operations Manager will serve as a key member of the MSP Leadership Team and play a critical role in supporting MSP’s growth strategy through scalable operations, process excellence, talent development, and customer-focused execution.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for all MSP manufacturing operations across production sites.
Develop and execute operational strategies that support business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Establish operational goals and performance standards aligned with annual and long-range business objectives.
Drive a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Safety & Environmental Excellence
Own MSP's Safety Management System and drive a zero-incident culture.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company regulatory requirements.
Lead proactive risk assessments, corrective actions, and safety improvement initiatives.
Develop leaders and associates to create a culture where safety is the first priority.
Quality Leadership
Own plant quality systems and ensure compliance with all customer, regulatory, and ISO requirements.
Lead initiatives to reduce defects, improve first-pass yield, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Drive root cause problem-solving and corrective action processes.
Partner with commercial and engineering teams to improve product quality and reliability.
Supply Chain & SIOP Leadership
Lead planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics functions.
Drive material availability while optimizing inventory turns and working capital.
Champion the SIOP process to ensure alignment between demand, supply, capacity, and inventory strategies.
Develop strategic supplier relationships and continuous supply chain improvements.
Manufacturing Engineering & Continuous Improvement
Lead Manufacturing Engineering resources responsible for process optimization, automation, productivity improvements, and capital deployment.
Drive Lean, 80/20, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, and problem-solving methodologies throughout the organization.
Identify capacity constraints and implement sustainable solutions to improve throughput and productivity.
Sponsor operational excellence initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
Financial Performance
Own operational budgets and cost-performance metrics.
Deliver productivity improvements and cost reduction initiatives while maintaining service and quality standards.
Support annual operating plan development and execution.
Drive cash generation through inventory optimization and improved operational efficiency.
Talent Development
Build organizational capability through coaching, succession planning, and leadership development.
Develop frontline leaders and functional managers to create a strong leadership pipeline.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline.
10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
5+ years leading multiple operational functions, including Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
Proven track record of leading organizational transformation and delivering measurable operational improvements.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence practices.
Experience managing budgets, productivity initiatives, and operational cost-performance.
Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, leadership, and change-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree (MBA or Engineering).
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Experience within electrical products, industrial manufacturing, or engineered products industries.
Multi-site manufacturing leadership experience.
Experience leading SIOP and supply chain transformation initiatives.
ERP/MRP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
