Journeyman Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Local) – Yellowknife, NT

Squires Industrial Services Ltd. is looking for an experienced Journeyman Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

This is a local position based out of our Yellowknife shop with a mix of shop and field work. Every day is different - you'll work on everything from heavy construction equipment and mining equipment to highway trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery.

What You'll Be Working On

Heavy construction equipment

Mining equipment

Highway trucks and trailers

Diesel engines

Hydraulic systems

Electrical diagnostics

Powertrain repairs

Preventative maintenance

Field breakdowns and emergency repairs

Shop repairs and rebuilds

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems

Perform preventative maintenance and inspections

Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship

Accurately document work performed using our digital work order system

Communicate with customers and supervisors regarding repair progress

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Participate in after-hours call-outs on a rotating basis when required

Qualifications

Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal preferred)

Valid driver's license (Class 1 or 3 is considered an asset)

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Welding and fabrication experience is an asset

Experience with CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Hitachi, Volvo, Cummins, Detroit, and Paccar equipment is an asset

Strong work ethic and positive attitude
