About the role

An AI-native recruiting startup building a voice-first job-search experience is looking for a Brand & Visual Identity Designer to come in, look honestly at what already exists, and help sharpen it for the next stage of growth.

Also searchable as: Visual Identity Designer | Brand & Visual Identity Designer | Senior Brand Designer | Freelance Brand Designer.

This isn’t a from-scratch rebrand — it’s a refresh. The team wants someone who can respect the equity in the existing brand while sharpening it to match where they’re heading, specifically for the jobs/careers website experience. The scope also includes giving visual identity to two AI agents that are part of the product experience.

Scope of work - Brand audit: Review current assets (logo, color, type, imagery, UI patterns, tone) and identify the core elements worth preserving vs. the elements holding the brand back. - Direction-setting: Translate the target “vibe” into a clear point of view — mood boards, reference points, and rationale, not just polished comps. - Visual identity update: Refine the identity system (color, type, imagery style, iconography, key UI components) so it feels cohesive and intentional on the jobs website specifically. - AI agent identities: Two AI agents in the product currently have no distinct visual identity and need dedicated design attention — naming/visual mark, avatar or character treatment, and styling that fits their role and personality (e.g. chat vs. voice interactions) while staying consistent with the overall brand system. - Lightweight guidelines: A usable one-pager or short deck documenting the updated system — including the AI agent identities — so the team (and future designers/engineers) can apply it consistently.

Deliverables - Brand audit summary (keep / evolve / cut) - Updated visual direction (mood boards + rationale) - Refined identity assets applied to key job-site templates/screens - Visual identities for the 2 AI agents (naming support, avatar/mark, styling guidance for chat and voice touchpoints) - Brand guidelines summary for internal use.

Who this is a fit for - A portfolio showing real brand work — not just UI polish, but identity thinking (why the choices were made, not just what they look like). - Experience refreshing or evolving an existing brand, not only greenfield brand creation. - Comfortable working within constraints — preserving equity while still pushing the work forward. - Bonus: experience designing character/agent identities or mascots, and experience with B2B/tech or recruiting/careers-adjacent brands.

Why this role You’ll have real influence over how the brand shows up to candidates — including the personality of the AI agents they’ll interact with — and how it evolves going forward, with a clear, contained scope and a fast decision-making process.
