About the role

Our company is a growing national leader in its industry with operations located across Canada. We are looking for a qualified Senior Mechanic to support our Maintenance department at our Regina facility.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, the Senior Mechanic will be responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance and monitoring of commercial laundry equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance routine on all production equipment including but not limited to cleaning and lubrication.

Perform reactive maintenance and repair as needed.

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems such as belts, chains, motors, gearboxes, PLC's, motor controls and drives, vision systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Assess and repair equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production efficiencies can be achieved.

Provide technical experience and support to maintenance technicians and helpers.

Operate and inspect mobile equipment such as forklift, boom lift and scissor lift.

Install new equipment, assisting in commissioning if/when necessary.

Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

Communicate with all departments, management and operators.

Follow company standards, maintain good record of activities.

Ensure all work performed adheres to provincial and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications. Identify and report any potential hazards, near misses and incidents.

Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications:

Mechanical experience of 3-5 years in similar industries.

Welding and use of cutting torches would be an asset.

Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematic diagrams, manuals and drawings.

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to prioritize.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Exhibit integrity, honesty and willing to work hard and smart to support the maintenance team.

Excellent English skills - speaking, reading and writing.

Proficient use of hand and power tools and rigging equipment.

Schedule:

The successful candidate will be assigned to the following work schedule:

4 days/week@10 hr/day

Must be flexible and available for any shift to include weekends.

Own transportation.

New pay rate $35.59 after completion of probation.
