Job Description

Directors in Product Development/Management at Visa are responsible for leading the development, commercialization, and optimization of technology products within the payments ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in product strategy, design, and execution, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that address customer needs and drive business growth. Directors operate in complex, matrixed environments, collaborating across functions to define product goals, manage lifecycles, and ensure successful launches and ongoing enhancements.

Visa’s Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) group delivers advanced fraud detection and prevention solutions, ensuring seamless, secure payment experiences. The Predictive Fraud Intelligence (PFI) team develops core AI/ML products within the Visa Protect suite, empowering clients to detect and prevent fraud throughout the payment lifecycle.

As fraud vectors have rapidly evolved, PFI has significantly expanded its product portfolio and reimagined its approach to building, deploying, and monitoring real-time, low-latency AI models. We seek a seasoned AI product Manager to drive platform capabilities and tooling, accelerating model development and supporting diverse client needs.

Visa is seeking a seasoned Director Product Manager with a keen interest in heavy tech platforms, deep understanding of ML development lifecycle & MLOps, and a strong passion for innovation. This role is pivotal in enhancing some of the fastest fraud detection models in the world. It is an opportunity to improve the end-to-end process, bring in continuous learning, keeping them up to date to catch the latest fraud trends.

As a product leader, you will collaborate closely with Technology, Data Science, Cross-functional Product, and Regional teams to define priorities, craft solutions, and deliver key product capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Customer-Centric Product: Understand customer needs and build empathy with technical users like data scientists and data engineers to define and evolve the product roadmap.

Product Vision: Define and execute product strategy, vision statements, and product goals. Lead product design, customer discovery, and the development of new products based on market and customer insights.

Data Ecosystem Leadership: Develop a deep understanding of the data lifecycle and drive strategic improvements across data sourcing, quality, and governance.

Model Optimization: Continuously enhance existing AI/ML models to improve fraud detection accuracy and performance.

GenAI Integration: Leverage generative AI to streamline model development, deployment, and monitoring processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, data science, and product teams across geographies to deliver scalable, impactful solutions.

Leadership: Set a role model of product management for the rest of product management team. Mentor new product managers, set processes. Take team forward on the set vision. Recruit, grow, and retain high-caliber technical talent.

Execution Excellence: Lead the delivery of complex, high-impact initiatives that transform the model development lifecycle and accelerate innovation. Structure and manage complex projects and processes with multiple stakeholders.

The successful execution of this role will be achieved through a combination of leadership, technology/AI-ML knowledge, platform thinking, innovation, passion for customers, and applied strategy.

All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

12+ years of professional experience with a bachelor’s degree. 5+ years in product management, focused on platforms and/or data products.

Senior product management experience in deep technical platform with exposure to Data management, ML/AI platform solutions.

Strong grasp of Agile methodologies and proven success in fast-paced, iterative environments.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional AI/ML and data science teams.

Strategic thinker with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills across global, diverse teams.

Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual rigor.

Understanding payments, fraud and authentication landscape and ability to translate product strategy into executable plans.

Experience recruiting, growing, retaining, and leading technical talent.

Experience collaborating in global, cross-functional teams.
