Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep AWS expertise to help design, build, and scale modern cloud platforms. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in automation-first environments, enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, and wants to influence platform strategy and DevOps maturity.

You’ll work across infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and cloud architecture, partnering with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure on AWS

Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation

Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable software delivery

Implement and enhance monitoring, logging, and observability solutions

Improve system performance, availability, and cost efficiency across AWS environments

Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps best practices

Drive automation and self-service capabilities across engineering teams

Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Implement and uphold cloud security best practices and governance controls

Qualifications

Core Technical Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.)

Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred)

Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)

Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)

Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, security groups, VPC design)

Operations & Observability:

Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.)

Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues in high-pressure environments

Strong focus on reliability, scalability, and performance tuning

Security & Best Practices:

Good understanding of cloud security and compliance principles

Experience implementing IAM policies, encryption, and secure architectures

Desirable:

Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) in production environments

Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments

Familiarity with GitOps practices

AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)

Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments
